20 stitches x 32 rows over 10cm (4 in) worked in Herringbone pattern on size 4.5 mm needles.

Exact tension is not crucial, however we recommend adjusting the needle size, until you achieve nice tight, even stitches; this will ensure the stuffing stays inside the toy.
